ABOUT ELAINA SCHMERSEY

 

Elaina has been riding and training for over 25 years. Started teaching Hunter/ Jumper lessons in Delaware when she was 18 years old.  She has attended Lake Erie College on an Equestrian Scholarship and competed on the schools winning Prix de Ville Dressage Team.  She has trained with F.E.I. trainers Todd Bryan and Charolette Bailey.  Elaina has continued her career by running a successful show farm in Longwood Florida, while teaching lessons and clinics.  Her experience led her to helping at risk youth at the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches.

Was an ACTHA (American Competitive Trail Horse Association) member and host, Hosting multiple shows in North West Mountain area and competing in GA and TN to earn her Bronze Medal in 2015.

Elaina was selected to be one of the trainers to compete in the 2015 Georgia Equine Rescue League (GERL) Rescue Challenge that is held at the University of GA livestock pavillion. There with other top GA trainers, Elaina showed her skills in training a horse in 120 days to be safe, controlled, and ready for adoption at the end of the competition.

Took a 3yrold mare "Peaches" from a starving situation and very little handling to competing at a high level in 120 days. We worked very hard to develop trust and respect that resulted in us winning a tough competition against top trainers in Ga.

In 2016, Elaina took her rescue mare Maggie and won the 2016 Advance Champion Belt Buckle at the NBRC Extreme Trail Obstacle Challenge Competition.

​

Competed in the Midwest Horse Fairs prestigious "Epic Night of the Horse" Star Search. Being selected out of over 500 entries to be in the top 5 acts was such an honor. Competing with Top Trainers from all over the country. Our act was called Light Wars and it was a Star Wars Themed show. We competed with a show stopping light performance that WOW! the crowd with fireworks, fame blasts and fast jousting moves in Star Wars costumes.

Elaina continues to do demonstrations, clinics, and entertainment at Horse Fairs and Expos across the US. Through years of studying different types of riding (Dressage, Jumping, Competitive Trail, Tricks, and Western), Elaina has learned how horses really mirror who we are as people.  Using horses to help others discover the positive power inside themselves, Elaina has learned to take the horse and rider team relationship to new levels.  Her love of teaching and riding has led her to owning FANCY MOUNT FARM.
